Queen City

Queen City

Spent some time in Meridian a few weeks and took advantage of some time to roam through downtown shooting photos of some of the buildings there. Snapped this photo right before crossing the street. Of course I waited until the go sign was given! Meridian is a pretty historic town and it was great to see some of the old buildings there, full of texture. I'll post some more down the road.

This little road trip was fun. We went through Noxubee County, stopping at "The Old Country Bakery" in Brooksville to get some baked goods from there, which they are famous around here for. We also did a little antique shopping in Marion, near Meridian. I even found an old camera with a wide angle lens! I'm always looking for vintage lenses to try with my camera, but I never thought to look in antique stores (duh!), but now I will. Antique shopping just became fun. My wife is very happy about that.

Enjoy this photo from downtown Meridian. Meridian has some great architecture, including the Three Foot Building that you can see in the center of the photo (largest building in the frame).
